Exorcising the Demons

In the past week or so, you guys have probably seen or heard rumors that The Exorcist will be remade. Well, crab walk yourself back to chillville because it looks like it’s not going to happen. William Friedkin weighed in on the issue and judging from his twitter, his head seems to be spinning.
I mention it only in passing, but I don’t believe Morgan Creek has rights to THE ORIGINAL, only the so-called sequels.

Dear HitFix…correction: I COMPLETELY denounce a remake of The Exorcist by Morgan Creek. — William Friedkin (@WilliamFriedkin) September 26, 2015
After Morgan Creek caught wind of the situation, they decided to reassure William and the horror community that they are, in fact, not going to attempt a remake.
@WilliamFriedkin Despite what was printed, we can assure you we would NEVER EVER attempt to remake The Exorcist.

So we can all just breathe a sigh of relief because this classic will remain untouched. As far as another sequel, well, let’s just pray that it doesn’t happen. I don’t know about you, but I’m seriously getting tired of these damn possession movies.
